Information Overload is all about how through the rise of the internet we now have access to far more information and knowledge than ever before. However with this rise in information and connectivity people have a lowered attention span, with an average of 6 minutes between checking phones. Our average attention span has dropped from 12 seconds in 2000 to 8 seconds—one second less than a goldfish! We check our phones 150 times per day. We check our email 30 times an hour. And the amount of information in the world continues to double every 18 months. My piece takes this into consideration, and breaks the information down with the initial hook being very quick proceeded by a longer article that still does not exceed the 5 minute mark of reading.
